Poison Prevention Protect yourself and your family by following a few simple guidelines!
  • Request “safety-lock” tops on all prescription drugs.
  • Keep household cleaners, bug sprays, and medicines out of reach and sight of children.
  • Never call medicine “candy.”
  • Never put poisonous products in food or drink containers.
  • Never store food and household cleaners together.
  • Do not underestimate your child’s ability to find and open poisonous products.
  • It is no longer recommended to keep a bottle of SYRUP OF IPECAC on hand. If you have a bottle, please dispose of it.
  • Do keep the Poison Center Hotline available (put the sticker on your phones.)
